Terms of use
These terms cover this website, our games (including CLOSED CASKET in the browser, on phones and as a desktop app) and our game and form servers. Together we'll call them "the service". "We" and "us" means Critical Gaming Hub. By using the service you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
1. Who can use it
The service is for people 13 and older. If you're under the age of majority where you live, please check these terms with a parent or guardian.
2. It's free, and it's yours to share
Everything is free. There's nothing to buy. Our own content is dedicated to the public domain under CC0 1.0 and our code is licensed under 0BSD (see Licenses). That means you can copy, share and change it. Our names and logos aren't covered, and third-party parts keep their own licences.
3. Playing nicely
When you play online, use our forms or use the crew radio, please don't:
- harass, threaten, or be hateful towards other players;
- share anyone's personal information, including your own, in voice or in forms;
- try to break, overload, hack or reverse-engineer our servers to disrupt them, or get around rate limits, room locks or kicks;
- use the service to break the law, or to send spam, malware or pirated material;
- pretend to be Critical Gaming Hub, or pass off a fork as the official game.
Hosts can kick players from their rooms. We may block abusive traffic, close rooms, refuse or remove submissions, and change or stop any part of the service, at any time, without notice.
4. What you send us
Feedback, survey answers and messages are anonymous, and you shouldn't include personal information. By sending feedback you let us read it, use it to improve our games, and (only if you chose Public) show it on the public wall. You also agree that ideas you send don't create any obligation for us, and that you won't be paid for them. We may edit out personal details, and we may decline to publish anything.
5. Health and safety
Please read Content & safety. Some people can have seizures triggered by light patterns on screens. Take breaks, play in a lit room, and stop playing if you feel unwell. You play at your own risk.
6. No warranty: provided “as is”
The service is a free alpha. It's provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that it will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or keep your progress. Saves live on your device and can be lost. Servers can go down. Rooms can close mid-shift.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Critical Gaming Hub and the people behind it won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost progress, lost profits or lost time, arising from or related to the service, however caused, even if we were told it could happen. Because the service is free, our total liability for any claim is limited to zero dollars (US $0), or the lowest amount the law allows if that's higher. Some places don't allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
8. Downloads
The desktop builds aren't code-signed. Download them only from the links on our own game page, and check the SHA-256 checksum if you want to be sure the file is ours.
9. Copyright complaints
If you believe something on the service infringes your rights, use the contact form (pick "Copyright / DMCA / takedown"). See the mission page for our anti-piracy stance.
10. Other websites
Links to other sites are there for convenience. We don't control them and aren't responsible for them.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING LAW: to be filled in after legal review], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in [VENUE: to be filled in after legal review], unless the law where you live says otherwise.
12. Changes and the rest
We may update these terms. The date at the top tells you when. If you keep using the service after a change, you accept the new terms. If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a part right away doesn't mean we've given it up. These terms are the whole agreement between you and us about the service.
13. Contact
Questions go through the contact form. You'll get a ticket code for our reply.
