Plain-English draft, not legal advice. We wrote this ourselves to say clearly what we do. It wasn't written by a lawyer, and it should be reviewed by one before anyone relies on it. Last updated 4 October 2026.
Our content is CC0 and our code is 0BSD, so you can fork, remix and ship it. But CC0 itself says it doesn't waive trademark rights, and we keep these, so players can tell the official free release from everything else:
- CLOSED CASKET, the game's title and the title lettering as used on the title screen;
- Critical Gaming Hub, the studio name, and its sign-style lettering on this site;
- the Black Lane Funeral & Collection neon sign when used as the game's logo;
- the game's app icon, when used as a logo.
What's fine
- Shipping a fork under a different name and icon.
- Saying it's "based on CLOSED CASKET by Critical Gaming Hub".
- Using the names to talk about the games: reviews, videos, streams, articles, fan art, mods.
What's not
- Calling your version CLOSED CASKET, or using our logos or icon for it.
- Suggesting we made, endorse or support your version.
- Using the names to sell things, or to hand out pirated or modified builds pretending to be ours.
We haven't registered these names with any trademark office yet. All characters, businesses and places in our games are fictional, and any resemblance to real funeral homes, brands or people is coincidental.
