Closed Casket 0.1.3 is out

Closed Casket 0.1.3 is live in the browser, in the Windows and Linux downloads, and in the Android APK. Everything we've been testing and writing about here is now in the real game.

Pick 2D or 3D

The start screen now asks whether you want 2D or 3D. 3D is an early version: one graybox village with named buildings. Read the job checklist, find the address, carry the client down the stairs with a bot crewmate, load and strap, drive, get paid at the trestle and clock out at sunrise. All the small 3D fixes from last week are in: dispatcher subtitles, caption size, high-contrast text, menu text size, and the job list no longer covers the pause screen.

3D is offline for now (you plus 1–3 bots). Online co-op is still 2D only. We'll switch 3D online on once it's properly tested.

Also new

  • 8 kinds of stairs, so pickups and drop-offs change from night to night.
  • Better fails: trips, drops, squashes, lid pops, the client flying out, and a two-person tuck-back-in.
  • Ash Hill, a new night district from night 4, with hillside stairs and wind.
  • Couch play for up to 4 on one screen.
  • New clients (Houdini, Snorer, Clingy), new night events (blackout, funeral convoy, flooded underpass), dawn colour and weather, report stickers and a replay archive of past Night Boards.
  • A Linux .deb download next to the zip and AppImage.

The full list is in the changelog.

Updating

In the browser, just reload (a hard refresh if it still says 0.1.2). The 0.1.2 desktop and Android apps will ask you to update before going online: grab the new files from the downloads or the Android guide. There's still no Mac build; Mac players can use the browser version. Who Sits Where hasn't changed and stays at 0.1.0.
